Globema awarded at the 2011 EMEAI Conference

Globema’s team participated in the 2011 Digital Energy EMEAI Conference & Sales Channel Meeting, which took place at Salzburg, May 10-12. We can proudly announce, that in recognition of our endeavors to improve efficiency of our Customers’ businesses through support of their strategic and workflow business processes, Globema was honored with the Digital Energy Customer Focus Award.

During the conference we promoted our development, data capture & migration, Smallworld-related consultancy services, provided by the team of over a 100 experienced developers, analysts, consultants and operators. We have also presented our products and solutions, including:

SmartGrid and energy:

  • ElGrid – Optimization of energy distribution network,  forecasting renewable generation and demand
  • MES (Metropolitan Safety) – Monitoring high voltage networks, preventing outages and optimizing loads
  • EL.GIS & Electric Office – Comprehensive system for electrical energy assets management
  • DH.GIS – Comprehensive system for district heating network inventory & management (presented in cooperation with our Customer – MPEC Krakow – one of Europe’s biggest district heating network operator)

  • CATV Design – Design and calculations of RF network within the PNI
  • LNI Connector – Data synchronization between Logical Network Inventory and NMS/EMS systems

  • Physical Route Manager – Management of relations within fiber network with auto-routing of optical paths

Recent year was an exceptional one in Globema foreign markets development. 2010 Smallworld Americas Users Conference in Baltimore

Globema exhibited at the 2010 Smallworld Americas Users Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, Sep 8 – 11.

At our stand we presented our “flag” Smallworld-based products developped for telco industry:

The presentation “Non-functional Success Factors of Network Inventory Implementation in Exatel” by jointly Jozef Ludwicki, Exatel CIO and Globema was very well received by the audience.

Our presence at the annual Smallworld Users Conference on the Western Hemisphere resulted in the commercial success. We have acquired another order from the Customer located in the US, also established a lot of promising contacts with companies interested in development of their Smallworld systems using Globema’s know-how, modules and services.

11th International Globema Conference

The 11th International Conference of Globema was held on 27-29 May in Warsaw. The leading theme of this year was: “Solutions for distribution and transmission network utilities and telecommunication operators on competitive markets”.

The Globema Conference was a place of meetings and an opportunity to exchange experiences between suppliers and users of GIS based solutions in such areas as energy and gas distribution, district heating, telecommunication and many more.

As in previous years, GE Energy Smallworld was the primary partner of the Conference. The list of other Conference partners and sponsors include: CADExpert, Oracle, Systemics Poland and Ubisense.

The conference was attended by over 150 people, with about 25 guests who came from the UK, USA, South Africa, Germany, Romania, Hungarian, Russian, Czech and Slovakia. Over 20 lectures were presented on plenary sessions and during two parallel tracks dedicated to solutions for utilities and communications. The presentations were delivered by users of Smallworld solutions, Globema staff members, partner companies and and by independent consultants.

The conference also featured an exhibion where five companies, including Globema, demonstrated their new products and solutions.

According to the conference participants, the most interesting lectures concerned IT solutions supporting management of modern energy netoworks. Attention was also focused on  Software as a Service (SaaS) model for geospatial resource planning applications.

Globema – Conference 2007

This was the largest User conference in Globema’s almost 10-year history. Over 200 attendees from 9 countries participated, and 30 papers were delivered, the most interesting among them focused on: network assets management and data capture/migration.

On May 28 – 30 in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland, the 9th International Globema „Beyond GIS” Regional User Conference was held. This year leading theme was: “Solutions for distribution and transmission networks utilities and telecommunication operators on competitive markets”. Special emphasis was put on data capture, business processes support and integration of Spatial Resource Planning with Work Management Systems.

Smallworld Global Transmission Office – GIS for Oil and Gas Transmission – was launched during the conference – for the first time in the Central and East European region, to the User community. Another premiere was the session dedicated to Cramer OSS integrated solution for telecommunication operators. Products of Cramer, Amdocs OSS Division, have been recently added to the portfolio of Globema offering.

Project managers of two of Globema’s customers – Katarzyna Sroczyńska of Dalkia Łódź and Marek Ostanek of Netia – were honoured for their valuable contribution in development of Smallworld-based solutions for District Heating and Telco.

Globema at INTERGEO EAST 2007

On February 28th – March 2nd in Sofia, Bulgaria was held 4th INTERGEO EAST 2007 – trade fair and conference for land management, geo-information and GIS.

INTERGEO East is the most important industry event in South-East Europe. 2,500 trade visitors and conference participants attended the fair, 87 companies from 21 countries exhibited their products and services, and gave visitors an extensive overview of current developments in the GIS industry.

Globema participation in the fair was the successive step in strategy of expansion Smallworld software in CEE countries – Globema’s distribution territory.
